India’s 76th Republic Day Parade 2025 at Kartavya Path was a grand celebration of the nation’s heritage and progress. With the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas”, the vibrant tableaux showcased India’s rich culture, military prowess, and technological advancements.

India marked its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, with a grand celebration at Kartavya Path.

  • President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag.
  • The iconic Republic Day Parade began from Vijay Chowk and concluded at the Red Fort, passing through India Gate.

Republic Day 2025 Theme

The theme for this year’s Republic Day Parade tableaux was:
➡️ “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Progress).

The parade showcased:
15 tableaux from central ministries, departments, and organizations.
16 tableaux from states and Union Territories (UTs).

Republic Day Tableaux 2025 Highlights

🔹 Tri-Services Tableau

  • Represented the jointness and integration of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
  • Featured a Joint Operations Room, symbolizing coordination among the armed forces.

🔹 Tripura’s Tableau

  • Theme: “Eternal Tribute: Worship of 14 Deities in Tripura”.
  • Highlighted the Kharchi Puja, a festival where deities are worshipped.

How Are the Republic Day Tableaux Chosen?

Application Process

  • States, UTs, and central ministries submit concept notes and blueprints to the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Selection Stages

Stage 1: Initial review of proposals and sketches. Some entries are modified or rejected.
Stage 2: 3D models are assessed, and only the finalized designs proceed for fabrication.

Evaluation Criteria

✔️ Visual appeal and theme relevance.
✔️ Use of local artists and traditional music.
✔️ Preference for eco-friendly materials, robotics, 3D printing, and advanced technologies.

Selection Guidelines

✔️ Themes must align with MoD’s annual theme (e.g., “Viksit Bharat” in previous years).
✔️ Diversity in representation to ensure tableaux from different states/UTs are distinct and culturally rich.
✔️ Modern technology like electronic displays, robotics, and sustainable materials is encouraged.
